By and large the first steps to success for a band normally include shows, single, radio. The Elementary Penguins, the Amsterdam trio ‘with that English singer’, Dale Wathey, has by chance rigorously broken with that fairly unshakable order. For them it was: radio, single, shows. Credit for the fastest step from the rehearsal room to radio without any stage experience in the clubs whatsoever is due to The Elementary Penguins. An EP recorded in order to secure live gigs accidentally landed on the desk of the music editors at 3FM in Hilversum. In no time they were invited for Serious Talent, the breeding ground for young pop and rock talents on Dutch public radio. Only after that had happened the shows followed. And now, their debut album Weekend Transition is out on V2 Records and a club tour is being put together for early 2015.

Fourtwenty Records, independent music label based in Amsterdam.

It is born to give a shake to the current situation in the music industry. Amsterdam is the world’s capital of counter culture, and it’s the perfect spot to start proposing something new and alternative from what the Music Industry now is.
It invests on bands from all over the world, on artists which deserve a bigger stage and to be known everywhere. It does so investing also in the creation of new music, promoting and distributing it wherever we can reach. That it means all over the world.

Fourtwenty Records is totally indipendent from the Major Companies game. And it will stay like this, forever.

Tune in again to BalconyTV //
