PRESENTED BY MATT CALDER

Ever since a battered old acoustic guitar washed up on the banks of a river near him after a rainstorm when he was just a teen, Gozer Goodspeed has been addicted to playing music. After his first gig as a very young man, the venue-holder gifted him a hat in lieu of payment. Twenty years down the line and many hundreds of gigs later, much has changed - but his style remains the same: honest, direct, playful and supremely energetic. And he still loves a good hat too...

Playing his potent blend of deeply original blues-folk, Gozer Goodspeed is a permanent fixture on the Westcountry live scene in the UK, and has developed an ever-growing reputation for his raucous, foot-stomping live shows, which utilise live-looping to make maximum use of his unique guitar skills. Averaging between 60 and 75 gigs a year, Gozer is never happier than when he’s onstage, and he has quickly become a regular feature on the local festival circuit.

An artist on the rise, Gozer's recorded music has been recognised and embraced locally by the likes of BBC Introducing in Devon and Cornwall – for whom he has played numerous live sessions – and his songs have featured nationally on a slew of Folk and Roots radio shows, including FATEA’s flagship programme ‘Along the Tracks’. Internationally Gozer has been heavily supported by tastemakers such as Artie Martello, Jon Colchord and Jonathan L, and his music has therefore been heard across the world.

Following on from 2016's 'Rattlebone Colour EP', and 2017’s warmly received 'The Barrel Headlong into the Night EP', Gozer’s new release ‘Impossible to Pick Up’ is out now in all good digital stores and on all good streaming platforms.
