BROUGHT TO YOU IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE SUNSHINE COAST COUNCIL, QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT, ALEXANDRA HEADLAND SURF LIFESAVING CLUB, TRADER TAG AND LIFETIME LIFESTYLE.
Foreign correspondent turned folk singer Ange Takats has lived a life less ordinary. She has been chased by a tiger in a Thai temple, interviewed Burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi, attended an elephant wedding, cuddled prison babies and has a chapter for every tale in her memoir 'The Buffalo Funeral' (2011) ... and a song for each story on her album 'Aniseed Tea' (2009).
With a voice described as Joan Baez meets Gillian Welch, Ange's vocals leave goose bumps on the skin, while her storytelling leaves a smile on the lips. She is a Q Song winner and the recipient of the National Folk Festival Award for Vocal Excellence. She has spent the past few years performing at some of the country's top music festivals.
