Schema, a 4-piece progressive-funk-rock band from Charleston, SC was formed in December 2011 when long-time best friends Jay Norton (drums), Adam Coyne (guitar), Ryan Bresnihan (guitar), and Matt Jackson (bass) were in the middle of an all-night drum session when they realized that they were onto something much bigger than just four friends playing some music. Schema's first song "Asheville" was created in a hotel room when the foursome was in the Appalachian city to soak up some inspiration from two of their favorite bands Umphreys McGee and Lotus. Skilled in improvisation with an affinity for making people dance, Schema caters to a live music audience with weekly gigs around Charleston. Although relatively new to the scene, Schema's fan base continues to grow as they make a name for themselves in and around Charleston with gigs lined up weekly. The four members are passionate about their music and want to share it with other music lovers, so if you get a chance, check them out, but be ready to dance.
