Son of a 1000 is a band reborn from 70's Rock, Funk, Soul and Latin influences. Migrating from the incredibly successful 'Son of a 1000 Blues,' who signed with Universal Music in 2009, the band's new line-up brings a freshness and zest, with a bit of sexy spice. Son of 1000, a name which describes the creative dynamics of this quartet, is truly one soul from a multitude of musical styles and era's.
Biography
Son of a 1000 is a band reborn from 70's Rock, Funk, Soul and Latin influences. Migrating from the incredibly successful "Son of a 1000 blues" originally started by Federico Fernandez (lead guitar) in 2004, the brand new line-up brought a freshness and zest which needed to be announced with a new name. Son of a 1000, a name which cannot describe the creative dynamic of this 4 piece more accurately, is truly one soul from a multitude of musical styles and era's.

The band consist of Lead Vocalist Shaun Parsons, Dave Munn on drums Sbu Ncala on bass and Federico on Guitars. All of them are multi talented artists, playing more than one instrument, and entertaining audiences with more than just good music. Good looks are also part of this package with Federico being a Cosmopolitan sexiest man of 2011 finalist and lets not forget to mention the electrifying stage performances that could be rated amongst the best in the country. Son of a 1000's diverse musical repetoire ranges from the extremely catchy, shake your body, party songs to intelligent and thought provoking lyrical themes with deep and touching accompaniment.

That Shadowclub planned to record their debut album in just 12 days, but completed it in nine, says much about the Johannesburg- based trio's attitude to music. Their rootsy, bluesy rock is purposely fuss free. The dozen songs on their debut, 'Guns & Money', were recorded live with no backing track. Modern recording techniques may have been used, but they certainly weren't relied on.
