PRESENTED BY TINA EDWARDS

This song was written just before the album was printed…it delayed a few things actually. I wrote it in the bath because I was singing a riff, the verse guitar riff and was just feeling a little disheartened by people’s comments who we had played our new music to so far, people in the industry.

I wanted to come up with something that sounded more formulaic.. “secret secret se se se ssssss …” but interestingly enough it’s done live like that, so we can play it without having to cut up the words and use a backing track, which is also how it was recorded… it’s inspired by formula, while trying not to be stuck within the guidelines.
I wrote the song on a Tuesday evening and we had demoed and recorded the final version within 3 days…
The lyric is simple but it comforts me… just to know that there isn’t one way of doing things… and that freedom starts from within and spreads into our space amongst people and into each other. I love the saying “you need to let go first before you can get a good grip on anything in life” this song is about that. It’s about realizing things are much easier, and smoother, without worry and stress, and with a little thought.

Our minds as well as being our own worst enemies sometimes are undoubtedly our greatest gift… It’s a song for the misunderstood and the misunderstanding alike…

We decided not to do this one onto tape because we wanted a more sparkly fresh sound…
