TILU refers to "3" in Sundanese, the band was named so because at inception, it had members from three different shores. Having been around the music scene for the past five years, TILU has grown into a versatile music ensemble that can fit in anywhere: the jazz-scene, pop-scene, indie-scene, you name it. Consisting of Amirah (vocals), Deo Karmawan (guitar/arranger), Bob Skunjas (drums), Tengku Indra (keys/synth), Zaim Zaidee (bass), and Jeffny (sax), TILU today is a hybrid-band of Indonesia and Malaysia. That helps the band create their signature sound and vibe; distinctive and pretty uncommon in Malaysia. Songs from their self-titled debut album were on high rotation on local radio station.
Their genuine love for music led the band to remain active and continue growing. With the return of TILU's lead vocal, Mira, from her studies in Belgium, the band regroup and are now recording their sophomore album. They are now back in business, in full force with their full line-up to conquer Indonesia and Malaysia… and the world!
TILU performs "Bawalah Diriku", a Malay song written by Tilu's guitarist, Deo, an apt song for the yearning heart. This upbeat homage create a magical floating feel, especially when interlaced with Mira's sweet vocals and her cheeky presence.
