PRESENTED BY LEE ANN McADOO
The Stolen Season is a five piece, indie/pop rock outfit from Denton, Texas formed in 2008. Writing songs that range from grandiose choruses that are hard to get out of your head, to simple, fun and catchy melodies involving big beats and full, detailed guitar rhythms throughout with even delicate and vulnerable moments that help the listener realize the passion behind the music and songwriting. With a wide, diverse range of influences from bands and artists like Switchfoot, Leeland, John Mayer, Taking Back Sunday and many more, their music encompasses a very unique style and sound, fresh to the ears with everything you'd want to hear in band. With songs that can lift you up and inspire, to songs that can simply get you to rock out, bob your head and clap your hands, their live show is certainly something worth experiencing. Their shows draw out such diverse crowds, anyone who comes should expect to fit right in, ranging from teens, kids and young adults, to even an older audience that enjoys the songs just as much as the younger crowd.
Having released The Hello Sunshine EP (2010), recorded at Soundstage Studios in Nashville, and with the recently released singles, "City Street Lights" (2011) and "Bricks" (2011), the band is preparing to release their upcoming, highly anticipated debut album, Lost In Colorways, in August 2011, also recorded in Nashville, TN at Black River Music. Their song, "Here Tonight", has been featured on 89.7 Power FM and Mix 102.9 in Dallas and their song "Bricks" has been featured the UNT radio station 88.9 KNTU.
Made up of five close friends from the DFW and Denton areas in Texas who love to simply play and make music together, the band has found themselves writing some of the most fresh and unique sounding songs. With members in the band all coming from rather diverse musical backgrounds but all with a deep passion for their faith, The Stolen Season leads worship at The Church of Corinth in Corinth, Tx every Sunday night while seperately, all 5 members also play in worship bands across the DFW area keeping well rooted in their churches and communities on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. The Stolen Season is a band well worth keeping an eye on in not only the DFW music scene, but across the US and your town very soon.
