PRESENTED BY MAYUR NAGPAL
MICROPHONES BY RODE
The JohnNathan Archive want to create an archive of the city's music, above and beyond being a regular musical act. They tell stories and translate their collective experiences of living, dreaming and surviving in Mumbai through song; thus, in a sense, creating a theatrical experience for the audience, with hints of humor, motivation, and the all important truth. The elements are electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, multiple layers of vocals, keys, percussions and lots more. They aim to engage the audience with both lyrical content as well as their play on melodies, harmonies and time signatures.
The JohnNathan Archive describes their sound as a blend of Indie-Folk, Jazz, Blues Rock with the utilization of vocal harmony, vocal layering, and guitars.
They also plan to have a few solo acts on stage which they hope will bring a confluence between their distinct style and that of Hindustani and blues music. In their own words "...our music cannot be pegged into one category, just as there cannot be merely one story of life in this city".
