PRESENTED BY JUSTINE MOYLE

Taj started busking in January 2011 having just turned 10. He only knew 5 songs – 3 covers and 2 originals, and his guitar was as big as he was. He raised $1,200 for the Queensland Flood appeal that month. Since then he has raised money for Bear Cottage in Manly and for the past year has been concentrating on The Manly Women’s Centre, where to date has raised over $4,000.
Taj had been writing lyrics and music, and playing guitar for a number of years before that first summer. There is video of him at the age of 2 performing with his ukulele and making up his own songs.
From 2 songs, Taj has now written over a dozen originals and performs these along with a hand full of covers when he busks every weekend at the Manly Corso.
Taj started at Mosman High in 2013 where he was accepted in the Drama program.
Taj has also performed at:
- Lizottes at Dee Why (Jan-13) – his first ‘real’ live paid performance where he performed a complete set.
- Manly Boatshed (Apr-13) – supporting Electrik Lemonade.
- Recently supported Diesel, Karise Eden and Alex Gibson on their tours.
Money raised from his busking efforts has funded the purchase of all of his equipment and the recent production of his EP “Hold On.’’
