PRESENTED BY MATHILDE LARSEN
Nanna Schannong is a young Danish singer/musician based in Aarhus. Nanna is
fascinated by using noisy guitar as a counterparty to her fragile vocal. Nannas music is
inspired by the danish bands Raveonettes and Mew and latest the bands Tame Impala
and Kurt Vile.
When asked about the process of making music she replied: "I love experimenting with
sound and I like pushing the limits of what is expected from the type of music I play. It's
important to follow your song and not to push it in specific directions from the beginning.
For me it's not the length or the timing of the chorus that defines a great song, but the
small details and ideas, the dynamics, the emotions you put in the chords."
On September 9 she releases her debut EP "The Day we told ourselves: Everything is
going to be alright!" The first single from the EP "Everything seems nicer in the dark"
recieved great reviews from Danish internet magazines and blogs:
"We feel like this is the beginning of something very huge, and the expectations to the
forthcoming EP are growing with every listen of "Everything Seems Nicer In The
- Sound Of Aarhus (april 2013)
I have really loved listening to the brand new single from a young shooting star on the
Danish alternative music scene... The single is called Everything Seems Nicer in the
Dark and if this is what music sounds like when it comes from a dark place - then I agree
that darkness is better."
- Musik mig blidt (april 2013)
On april 15 Nanna Schannong released "Everything Seems Nicer In The Dark", which is
the first single on her upcoming EP "The day we told ourselves: Everything is going to be
alright" The single is just as good, as the title of the EP is long!
- Bands Of Tomorrow (april 2013)
Beside her is Johan Kruse from the new Danish band/mountaineers Navneløs.
