PRESENTED BY RACHEL KIPNIS
(New York, NY) Australian-born singer-songwriter MAY announces the release of her single “Sunday Night". With orchestral blends of contemporary soul and pop, MAY pairs hauntingly beautiful melodies with evocative vocals to create a distinctive and powerful sound.
After being praised in her home country as "One of the hottest things to see, hear and read," by Harper's Bazaar and "A singer too young to be this good" by ABC, she crossed over into the US earlier this year with the release of her debut single “Sunday Night". Since then, MAY has created a vast stir in the US blogosphere, leaving the media with an instant affinity to her vocal talents and writing ability. Hilly Dilly applauded the Australian songstress saying, “The tone in MAY’s possession is absolutely pristine, her songwriting is poetry… and she’s pretty much the complete package for lovers of contemporary soul.” Fresh Independence named MAY one of the ‘Top 20 artists to watch out for in 2015’ and raved of her, “Depth, imagery, and timeless beauty.”
"Sunday Night", written by MAY, was inspired by a fleeting rendezvous that ignited a vivid sense of passion and liberation. In 2014 she traveled to Detroit to shoot the video for "Sunday Night" with co-star Samuel Larsen of Glee. The derelict warehouses and icy climate were the perfect backdrop for the evanescent love tale.
Teen Vogue describes the songstress as “The next big thing” embodying "The voice of an angel." Deadly Music deemed MAY "The Jacqueline DuPré of Pop…" while Kings of A&R declared her one of 2015’s ‘Top 8 Emerging Artists.’ In addition, the songstress was exclusively featured on Aol.com’s ‘AOL Rise’ and The Examiner.
Stay tuned for more 2015 releases from MAY!
