Soleman Coleman - is what his friends call Leigh, after listening to his music it is not hard to understand why. Leigh has a had an ongoing love affair with Jazz and Soul since he was 12 years old, an accomplished Guitar player, Leigh also plays Bass and Drums and anything else that will stand still long enough for him to get a tune out of it.
After signing to Mama Stones Records in 2010, Leigh quickly caught the attention of Joss Stone and Betty Wright, in the last couple of years he has received mentoring from both of these R&B Goddesses . Co writing with, and performing support slots for ..these lovely ladies, Leigh had found himself in exactly the right company, likeminded souls that caught his vision and helped him to develop the songs and music for his debut project.
A level headed lad from the Midlands, Leigh has not been phased, more he has been delighted to work with such accomplished artists. He remains completely focused on his music, you get the feeling when you are talking to him that as long as the music is good then all is right in his world.
As well as M.D ing the Mama Stone's House band Leigh gig's regularly and enjoys a growing fan base both sides of the pond. Quote from the Great and Legendary Betty Wright:
From the moment I met Leigh, I knew it was not a casual encounter. Sometimes, you just know instantly that a student or an aspiring artist has "it". His gentle spirit caressed the mother in me, his fluidity on the frets flavoured his vocals and intrigued the musician in me. His voice evoked a quote I'll borrow from a lifelong friend, Lionel Richie: Easy, Like sunday Mornin. He is a soul man..that Coleman.
Quote From Joss Stone
Leigh Coleman is not only a beautiful soul but my goodness his voice is deliciously delightful. I cannot wait to hear a whole album from him.
