At only 20-years-old, Laurel has released two EPs, To The Hills and Holy Water, to high critical acclaim. Both bodies of work amplify her signature haunting and beautiful sound that layers subtle electronic beauts with orchestral arrangements, all while highlighting her sultry vocals. Her song “Fire Breather” was featured on the wildly popular CW show The Vampire Diaries in 2014, and she has received major airplay in the UK on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, XFM; major DJs Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens, and included on the BBC Introducing Playlist. Her arresting tracks have garnered millions of Spotify streams and YouTube views. She has been featured on SPIN, Interview Magazine.com, Vogue.com, Vice’s Noisey.com, W Magazine, The Lab, BULLETT, Pigeons & Planes, Myspace and most recently was featured on Miss Selfridge.
Hailing from from Southampton, Laurel has been writing, producing and performing her own original material since the age of 14. Following the completion of college, Laurel moved to London and inked a deal with Turn First Records (Dan Croll, Iggy Azalea, Jack Garratt). All this off the strength of her posting one demo to her soundcloud, which sent blogs into a frenzy causing the song to hit no.3 on Hype Machine.
In April 2015, Laurel also released her alternative hip-hop mixtape ‘Allelopathy’ which received critical acclaim by leading hip hop blogs: Complex, Respect Mag and Live Mixtapes. Whilst putting the finishing touches to her album (expected late 2015), Laurel has been busy touring, playing numerous UK festivals over the past 2 years including The Great Escape, Dot to Dot, Bestival, Radio 1 Big Weekend; as well as touring with John Newman, MSMR & Dan Croll. Laurel also played her first U.S shows at The Troubadour in LA, KCRW’s “School Night” in LA & New York, Northside Festival in New York and NXNE in Toronto.
