What's that buzz coming from Eastern Europe? Looks like it's the Romanian underground bubbling under extreme creative heat! It's the sound of Crowd Control taking off from a solid local reputation, heading for an international recognition, and they are taking along with them about 20 more talented colleagues=friends=musicians=producers.

Crowd Control's recent debut album is appropriately titled Loud Blood Youth, but "Future Sound of Romania" would be just as fit. Each track is a collaboration with one or more local artists, ranging from legends like Adrian Enescu and Rodion G.A. to new experimental acts or mind-bending producers: Cristian Fierbinteanu, Secuem, Platonic Scale, Ilarian, Elektromekanik & Happy Gutenberg, MAD, Alien Pimp, IOZE, Droict, Costas Ivanov of Temple Invisible, Alin Zăbrăuțeanu of Omelette and The Ghost Of 3.13.

The concept and the sound is a 360º scan of everything electronic, indie, and dub. No track sounds like the next one, but the pack is surprisingly coherent. What holds it together must be exactly this assumed eclecticism and the message, which can be summed up in two words: conscious fun. If you are among the many that have little or no knowledge of Romanian music, head to their label False Flag Operation (an offshoot of the legendary DubKraft Records) and download the album for free in mixtape format.
