PRESENTED BY ZACHARY JOHNSON
Bruja is a South Florida based band led by South American born singer-songwriter, Jorge "Bruja" Zarruk. A strong love for Blues, Rock and Reggae music has influenced Jorge throughout the years, and the original music reflects just that. As a guitarist, Jorge’s influences have been widespread — ranging from early blues players like T-Bone Walker and Buddy Guy to more contemporary players like Jimmi Hendrix, Santana, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Hardcore fans are well-acquainted with Bruja’s original songs and request them by name, like "Tomorrow Never Comes,” a Reggae Rock fusion with Jerry Garcia-influenced guitar work, or "Heart of Stone,” a bluesy groove which starts out slow and dirty, like Texas-style blues, then increases tempo to a fun and danceable R&B shuffle.
Other crowd favorites include "Jack Daniel’s Blues,” "Save My Soul” and "Try to Love” — the latter a swampy blues rock tune reminiscent of The Black Keys.
