PRESENTED BY JOANNA BOLOÑA

Big Pollo is one of the few bands dedicated to bring peruvian funk to the world. With a well orchestrated combination of rock, funk and hip hop, the band has been playing since 2006, turning itself into one of the most interesting proposals in the peruvian rock scene.

Since its beginings, Tato Elera, Alejaru Rodriguez, Bruno Sanchez, Carlos Emilio Llerena and Paul Hoyle have released three albums: “Big Pollo Funk” (2008), “Habla!” (2012) and their latest release “Nuestro Mundo” (2015).

They have shared stage with chilean artist C-Funk from the band Los Tetas and with mexican band Molotov. Big Pollo has toured all over Peru and travelled twice to the U.S. to play in the Smashington Music & Arts Festival in Orlando, Florida. In their second trip to the U.S. they shared stage with Satch Dixon who used to be Bob Marley´s percussionist. Due to that experience, they where interviewed by international network CNN.

Being one of the most original proposals in the peruvian scene, Big Pollo is opening doors to other independent bands with the intention of being heard worlwide and show that peruvian rock is original enough to refresh the international scene.
