AURORA JANE - RISE

PRESENTED BY RISHI MAJUMDER

"Aurora Jane's brand of funk infused pop-rock (has) won her many fans..."(Rolling Stone) Touring throughout North America, Europe, India & Australia last year, life has been colourful for this transient Australian artist. With a fourth studio album underway, including horns recorded in Havana for the crazy instrumental 'Too Much of A Good Thing is Never Enough', Aurora Jane and the new trio are sculpting tracks to transcend borders on the principals of funk, connectivity, phatness and groove. Developing tracks in a live setting is a key concept, and 2013 audiences can look forward to hearing the tracks evolve before their ears.

In addition to the album, Aurora Jane will launch a new concept project this year, an extension of her label. She stated recently in Rolling Stone: "Mojo Junction will be a creative lifestyle website, a point where the international creative community intersects and can explore new music, culture, politics and art. I have been dreaming this up for years, and it is finally coming to fruition. My art and touring experiences have transcended simply making records for a long time."

Aurora Jane's tour history includes seven circuits of India & Canada, countless rounds of her home turf in Australia, and two European tours (2008 & 2012). Festivals played include: Big Time Up (Canada), Woodford (Australia), Festival of the Sun (Australia), Roots Festival (India) and Robson Valley (Canada). Over the past decade Aurora Jane has shared the stage with such greats as: John Butler Trio, Blue King Brown, The Waifs and Rachelle Van Zanten. Media highlights include: Rolling Stone (India), Guitar Techniques Magazine (UK), Rage ABC TV (Australia) and Triple J airplay (Australia).
