Hailing from Miami — from salsa dancing mosh pits to Irish drinking sing-a-longs — Artisan Soul has it all.
The band began unintentionally in late summer 2014. In order to help out their local music shop owner Ray Anton, long time friends Kristan Patton and Thomas Rodriguez opened as an acoustic duo for Ray's heavy metal band Jack Stevens. A couple of things happened that night after their set and the duo was dubbed Artisan Soul. Later they met Orlando Cuadra (then bassist for Jack Stevens), who would eventually become Artisan Soul's drummer after Jack unfortunately passed away. After the three had their first few practices they realized something was missing, something feminine. At that point they turned to Kiele Cabrera (Kristan's younger classically trained sister) to finalize the line up. Kiele's dynamic vocals coupled with an adept ability on keyboards completed the sound they were looking for.
Within a month Artisan Soul performed at Revolution Live, then played Tobacco Road's famed cocktail lounge prior to its closing and in their third month played Churchills.
They have affectionately dubbed their style of music FUNCORE.
