The name Amy Cushway has been echoing around Australia for the past 4 years. After pouring her young heart into her first 2 EP's, Cushway's following had spilled out of the GC and and into the hearts of music enthusiasts throughout Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
February 2012 marked the independent release of her debut album "It's a Happy City". Amy describes the album as an energetic party pack of acoustic indie pop songs. Between big ideas and stellar ballads, Cushway has been jumping rooftops and is hopeful to work her way into the ears of listeners throughout the world.
Within the last 4 years Amy has been invited to play festivals throughout Australia and New Zealand including The Island Vibe Festival, The Water Front Festival, Brisbane's Valley Fiesta, The Wellington Winter Fest and The Coffs Harbour/Mooney Beach Festival.
Cushway has shared the stage with bands including Matt Corby,The Beautiful Girls, 28 Days, Holland, The Delta Riggs, Roger That, The Art of Sleeping,The Boat People, Darryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens, Mental as Anything and Tex Perkins... to name a few.
With record labels throughout Australia lingering, Amy was also approached to work with ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher (Pete Murray, Josh Pyke, The Living End, Midnight Oil) and was invited to record 2 tracks with him in Sydney. Cushway has also managed to attract the attention of Blink 182's manager Rick Devoe.
Rave Magazine 2011 described the Amy Cushway live show as "Direct, Powerful and Modern". With stand out tracks like 'London Lights', 'The Season' and 'Oh Canada' Cushway is guaranteed to get your mind racing and your body swaying.
