PRESENTED BY MATT CALDER

"…..twinning folk-tinged heartbreak with a KT Tunstall-tuned vocal heft, she’s primed for altitudes way beyond the reach of a West London Restaurant" ..Q Magazine

Likened to both KT Tunstall and Beth Orton, Alex has been described as an ‘awesome songwriter with the voice of a slightly naughty angel’ and ‘the darling of BBC Introducing in Devon’ Alex’s hard work and commitment to her music and songwriting has resulted in Alex being featured in Acoustic Magazine and Q Magazine; nominated for the South West Music Awards (Best Acoustic Act); and chosen to busk in the Olympic Park during the Paralympic Games.

Her live On’t Sofa YouTube sessions (including a ‘sublime’ performance of Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’ ) have gathered thousands of views.

In 2014, Alex met and collaborated with Guy Jones, and his producers in the US, providing harmonies for 3 of the 4 tracks on Guy’s EP ‘Long Way Home‘ including his featured single ‘Albany Honey‘. She was also chosen from hundreds of entrants to play at the Richer Unsigned/Q Magazine Music Industry Showcase at the iconic Pheasantry in London’s Kings Road in October 2014.

Alex has played support for The Little Unsaid, The Toy Hearts, Cole Stacey, Chris Woods, Tobias ben Jacob, Guy Jones, Sound of the Sirens, Caitlin Park, Vince Freeman and Martin Stephenson. Still in her teens, Alex has just released her second EP ‘Critical Perfection‘. She can be seen regularly busking in her hometown of Exeter, and with the support of her new band, playing as many gigs, charity events, festivals and support slots as she can, performing her own original and haunting material (as well as a few covers!)
