THE MARGINALS
THE MARGINALS formed in October 2009, Miguel Vilar with a background in the alternative rock is the frontman and lyricist of the project, multi-instrumentalist musician Leco is responsible for creating the musical support that supports the stories and travels created by Vilar.
" Every song got a story and every story can be a song", this is the motto.
The sound of The Marginals part of Folk Rock, Indie but covers other sounds like the Blues.

Between late 2009 and early 2010 they recorded five demo songs that attracted the interest of the musical community and get airplay all over the world, with special emphasis in the United States: LA Talk Radio (USA), Pluto Radio (USA ) Oehrlie Radio (Germany), CTVM Radio (France) and Portugal where they were featured in the Sinfonias de Aço, presented by Manuel Melo.

2010 began in the best way for the band that decides to take the next step and record their first album "Songs for the Rebels," the recordings took place in the summer of 2010 and the album was produced by the band and Fernando Nogueira.
"Songs for the Rebels," received great reviews and continued to have the support of the North American LA Talk Radio that has been rotating several songs of the album, played a key role in Portuguese show Terapaia 66, presented by Nuno Magalhães in Radio Amplitude and in the show Posto de Escuta on Radio Foz do Mondego.

Described as an album full of excellent songs and that transpire Route 66, stand out songs like "Live Fast, Die Young", "Nice Boy, Gentleman," "Damaged Man" and "Hold On". Songs ideal to accompany us on any RoadTrip through dusty and deserted roads.
Describe moments, feelings, weaknesses and desires, beautiful songs that range from the simplicity of a voice and a guitar and a certain musical sophistication.

At the end of 2010 aroused the interest of award-winning short film director Guy Tschannen from Switzerland. Christian who offered to direct the band's first video "Damaged Man" that honors to had appear on the official Brazilian Arapa-Rock Festival that highlights independent film and Alternative rock worldwide.

In 2010 the Marginals were one of the finalists of the European competition for new bands, EURODEMO SANTANDER BAND CONTEST 2016 and were also finalists in the renowned Rock Rendez Worten.

After presenting some songs from "Songs for the Rebels' between 2010 and 2011 that catapulted the band to the top reaches of the Top Myspace, the band decided to toast his followers by releasing the album available for free download in the summer 2011.

At the start of the promotional tour of "Songs for the Rebels" a new member arrived to the band, Dércio Cardoso reinforces the ranks of the band joining the project on the bass. During a break in the tour the band returned into the studio and recorded 3 new songs featuring single format, they are "Ghost Love", "Little Soldier" and "Silver Emptiness."
