BALCONYTV DUBLIN 7/03/2010
PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT
Friday 5th March was a momentous day for The Lynchburg Mob who launched their debut CD on a night not to be missed in The Village on Wexford Street. The North-Dublin lads took to The Village main stage for the event and it was not be their first time adorning the coveted home of Irish Indy / alternative rock. The Lynchburg Mob lads launched their debut CD which they recorded with well sought after producer Andy Knightly of K Recording.
The Lynchburg Mob emerged from The Village's King Kong Club semi-final as unanimous winners. A vociferous, sweat-clad mob of Lynchburg fans cheered their band to a place in The King Kong Club final which will take place on Thursday 8th of April. This transpired to be only the beginning of the Lynchburg Mob's success. Several weeks later, the LBM lads took part in, and ultimately won, the DCU Battle of the Bands'. More recently their successes led to them being invited back to their alma mater, Castleknock Community College to perform at the schools talent competition Starsearch which was a roaring success. So mark it down in the diaries as a must-attend event, it will not disappoint. As well as the EP hits, the Lynchburg Mob will play a host of other songs and there may even be a surprise or two in store. Support on the night will be offered by two of their label mates from GetMySpoon Management, Gypsies On The Autobahn and Dave Barrett. Also Bundoran based band Empire Electric will be playing their first gig in Dublin. An energetic and thoroughly engaging band, The Lynchburg Mob will ensure that Friday March 5th will be a night to remember.
