Empire Machines is a 4 piece Indie Rock outfit that began in Austin, Texas in late 2009. Band members Matt Blackwell (vocals, guitar) and Trey McKinley (bass, backing vocals) met in 2004 in their hometown of Houston, Texas, during their first year of high school and have been playing in bands since. The two got with bandmates James Boriack (guitar, keys) in 2011 and Clellan Hyatt (drums, backing vocals) in 2012 to complete the lineup. In November 2011, the band released their debut self-titled EP consisting of 6 tracks in which each song walks different avenues of the indie rock genre. The band is currently playing live shows in and around the city of Austin, and beginning work on what will be their second EP to be released Winter 2012.
