Sára Hélène is a pop/R&B project realized by vocalist/songwriter/lyricist Sára Hélène Bori and bass player/producer Dávid Szedlár. The two met while studying at a pop music institution, the Kőbánya Music Studio in Budapest, Hungary. The musical partnership led to a collection of pop/r&b songs with soft vocals and honest storytelling. For their groovy live performances they are accompanied by Simone Cesarini (guitar), Marco Apicella (piano) and Nello Biasini (drums).
In 2011 they received consent from highly appreciated Dutch poet, Mischa de Vreede to set her poem ‘Liefste’(1959) to music. Their song titled Árnyék was selected among the Top 20 of the 90.9 Jazzy Radio Song Contest 2012. The song is featured on the project’s first album, Fragments, which appeared in October, 2014. Fragments is a unique blend of all the influences that have shaped their musical taste, style and personality.
Together with creative producer Jitske Wadman and director/producer Niels de Groot they recorded a video in Amsterdam to her first single, So Real.
While constantly writing and recording songs for her first album and after having graduated from the Eötvös Lóránd University majoring in English and American Studies, Sára Hélène started to take on various freelance jobs as a lyricist. She writes English lyrics for vocalist Boggie (best known for her music video to the song Nouveau Parfum picked up by media outlets in various countries including UK and USA) and award-winning jazz singer, Myrtill Micheller, among others. Boggie’s single, titled Wars for nothing, a song Sára Hélène co-wrote with Áron Sebestyén was selected as Hungary’s entry song for the 2015 Eurovision Songfestival in Vienna.
