Originally a band known as "Reef-stained", "Jonny Zero" is now set in a new direction and are much improved to their previous selves. Having played venues such as The Academy-Dublin, Tripod-Dublin, Roisin Dubh-Galway to supporting The Blizzards in late 2010, Jonny Zero have their back catalogue already off to a solid start. The band plan to record a new E.P during 2012 and are currently on the search for gigs to help cover the cost of the recording of this E.P.

Red Sail are based in Dublin. Despite the fact that there are only three members, the sound they create on stage somehow feels much more substantial. Their songs often use the simple building blocks of piano, guitars and vocals to manufacture a sound that engulfs the audience and never fails to gain a reaction from the crowd. The guitar effects and organ sounds that are used, manage to combine electronic influences with a more traditional songwriting style to form music that feels new and familiar all at once. They're influences range from bands like Arcade Fire and the National to the more folky and gentle Fionn Regan and Laura Marling. Rather than emulating these acts, however, Red Sail try to create music that is genuinely theirs and does not simply follow the template of other artists.

All three members have had experience working individually as musicians, but after meeting in college decided to form a band that would allow them to combine their talents. They started performing together in early 2011, but are already creating a buzz in the Dublin music scene. They have supported local acts such as Storyfold , Gypsies on the Autobahn and Caruso but also national acts such as Paul Brady. They have played in venues around the country like The Workman's Club, The Village, Sweeneys and Metro17.

With their Paper Cut-Outs EP due out in March, 2012 should prove to be a breakout year for the group.
