Dead Bees are a Cork-based pop-grunge quartet who formed after meeting in Coláiste Stiofán Naofa in 2010. After their music course ended vocalist/guitarist Eavan O'Leary and guitarist/vocalist Cúán Walsh began working on songs as a duo and, after numerous line-up rehashes and instrument swaps, were joined by drummer Barry Quealy and bassist Declan O' Shea.

The group's music can best be described as melodic pop rock with a dark twist, with their influences being everything from Queens of The Stoneage and The PIxies to Pavement and Radiohead. Boy/girl harmonies sit on top of angular guitars, walking bass lines and driving drums.

Dead Bees have built up a loyal following in Cork following a recent series of live shows in venues such as An Réalt Dearg, The Quad, The KC Sessions at The Crane Lane Theatre, and Bourbon St Bar.

Daniel Scannell is a Surfer/Musician from Rathcormac in Co. Cork. In 2004 Daniel moved to Co. Mayo where he became immersed in the Ireland's surf culture and was introduced to the music of artists such as Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and Xavier Rudd. Inspired by the sounds of Mayo's surf scene Daniel began playing the Didgeridoo and was soon collaborating with the band 'The Sons of Gingerbread' a blues/folk group who combined ethnic instrumentals with an oldschool blues setlist creating a new and unusual sound.

In 2007 Daniel moved to the sunny South East living and working in Waterford City. Disconnected from the music scene there he began busking and jamming at open sessions to raise his profile in the area and soon enough was working with several local Artists and bands collaborating with Jazz, Blues, Rock and Roll and theatre groups, his unique style of music quickly becoming popular in venues across Waterford. Strongly influenced by the Jazz and Blues scene there Daniel's guitar playing was developing all the while and eventually his love for the guitar had given the didgeridoo a temporary back seat, an important turning point in his musical journey which allowed Daniel to write his own music as a solo artist and become the Singer/Songwriter he is today.

In 2011 Daniel independently released his debut EP 'Fish for Shooting Stars' which is available on iTunes, he is currently recording his debut album a collaboration with Jimmy Hoey which is set for release summer 2012 under the Seaweedjam label. Daniel's Seaweedjam Tour will also take place this summer along Ireland's wesht coast, dates will be announced in April.

Rob The Nation

Rob The Nation, one of the most original, committed and hard working young bands in Ireland today first met and then established themselves through the Ballyphehane Youth Development Project in the autumn of 2009. Although most of the members had no previous musical experience prior to joining the project, they succeeded in playing their very first live gig to great applause at The Lough in Ballyphehane Cork within six months of having first formed with a set that included covers and original compositions. Since then they have played a variety of venues such as the Cork School Of Music, Charlies where they played support to Mick Flannery, The Cobh Peoples Regatta and at the Barnardos Benefit gig in U.C.C to two thousand People alongside X-Factors Paige Richards. In 2010 they reached the finals of Corks Talent Search, and although the did not win the competition outright on this occasion they impressed the judges so much that they were awarded a free day of recording at Spain A.V in Tipperary. Another highlight of their career so far has been the opportunity to record their own original song entitled "Rock The World" in the world famous Grouse Lodge recording studio in County Westmeath, where artists such as Muse, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics and Michael Jackson have also recorded. Today Rob the Nation continue to dazzle audiences with their youthful energetic performances and progressive superbly crafted originals wherever they play.
