ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: THE NYMPHS

One of our Editor’s Picks this week is a show from The Nymphs in Melbourne, Australia where they performed an excellent acapella rendition of their track “Hope I Feel Better Soon.” You can check out the incredible foot stomping performance here: http://balconytv.com/v/the-nymphs-hope-i-feel-better-soon. We love these gals, so we thought we’d introduce this vocal powerhouse foursome a little further in our Artist Spotlight of the week.

Based in Melbourne, Australia The Nymphs are currently working on their debut LP, which we are just dying to hear. The group chose producer Steven Schram to produce their first single, an incredibly nostalgic and soulful track titled “Shake.” For a taste of “Shake” here's a pretty cool live version of the tune here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU2Ftv0ja7E. The Nymphs collection of voices blends the best of 40s jazz, 50s swing and 60s pop to create their own personal classic sound. But how do they describe their own music? Aptly, “The Andrew Sisters drinking single malt with Mae West at the Old Bar.” Also, we have to tip our hat to their INCREDIBLE style. These gals are giving The Ronettes a run for their money.

With just the power of their voices this quartet has gone on to win over Australian audiences with a collection of TV performances including their stunning version of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” via The Chordettes “Mr. Sandman,” on Spicks and Specs back in 2010. It's a must see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU2Ftv0ja7E
