"February" is a song about loneliness, self-awareness, and a sudden awareness of one's surroundings.
Too often we go from day to day without noticing the small things that make up our personal experience on this planet: the mournful wail of a siren on a quiet night; a baby's cry from an adjoining apartment. It is when we hear these things that we are reminded that we are not alone in this existence. Yet our own experiences can be so vastly different from the experiences of those around us that we feel even more isolated, if that is possible.
"February" might be the 20-something's lament. Or it might be that sound from your stereo that reminds you just how alone you really aren't.
